Get ready to experience the history of St. Thomas through photos from our Walking Tour of St. Thomas, maps, facts and lore.
This walking tour focuses on the history of St. Thomas and starts at the world's largest collection of Pirate Statues surrounding Blackbeard's Tower. This is where the real pirates of the Caribbean roamed. Legendary port for Blackbeard the pirate, St. Thomas historians trace the Skytsborg Tower of 1679 through history. Children enjoy the tower and imagine themselves on pirate quests. Silent, aged cannons lay embedded in their mounts flanking Blackbeard's Tower to be seen on this historic Caribbean Tour. Blackbeard's Castle Tower is national U.S. historic landmark.

You'll find
other treasures on the tour too, including the
grand Danish Haagensen House (below) and the old Scotman's New Orleans style
Villa Notman, and beautiful gardens. With your
views of the ships passing in the harbor it is easy to imagine why this setting
was chosen for a pirate watchtower over the Caribbean Sea. The night lights
in the town of Charlotte Amalie are spectacular. See more in our other Walking
Tour pages that provide additional detail about this historic Caribbean
sightseeing tour and a specific map. Call or email to reserve a place on the
Walking Tour for your visit to St. Thomas. Our area
maps provide details of downtown Charlotte Amalie and include broader
maps of the island of St. Thomas for complete St. Thomas sightseeing and shopping.
